I came across this large Oak Eggar Moth completely impaled on the barbed wire, you can see the end of it sticking out at the end of its body. I wonder if it flew into it by mistake or if perhaps a Shrike has put it there. Has anyone seen anything like this before?
I saw one just today in West Central Indiana - pretty sure it's from a Shrike but I'm asking my nature buddies to be sure. It was a Polyphemus Moth :)
